Our youth group went to Horizon x Unity Retreat at Redwood Christian Park on July 31 - August 3. The theme for this retreat was Exile, which based on the book of Daniel and 1 Peter, to remind us that we are called to live a different life than the rest of the present world, not conforming to the ways of the world (Romans 12), but conform in the image of Love (Jesus) and live a godly life. With so much demands and pressures at our school and among friends, we need more love, more understanding, and more patience just as Jesus said, "Because disobedience will expand, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures (in love) to the end will be saved." (Matthew 24:12-13) It was a blessing retreat where most of our youth members felt the Holy Spirit's working through the word, praise and prayer, however, since it was joint retreat with another denomination, we had to compromise some of the regulations that was set forth. We learned the valuable lesson how to work with a large group of people and how to endure with love. Thanks be to God.
