-15th Sunday after Pentecost-

It is very important for us, as a community, to create a safe and Spirit-filled space where people can come and experience the power of God’s presence. This cannot be accomplished by the commitment of just one person or one leader. It requires the collective efforts and dedication of the whole body. I ask myself, and our congregation, whether we are humble enough to tear our clothes in repentance as we see what the world has become, and to devote ourselves to building this sacred space for worshiping God.

So, let us make our worship become the center of our lives. Let us make this space become a place where we can bring all our pain and struggles to God, where we can receive His grace and forgiveness. Then, we can start to share His love and life with others. For this reason, we serve God, the God who purifies us with fire, the God who restores us in His love, and the God who rejoices over us with singing.

-성령강림후 열다섯째 주일-

저희 교회에 사람들이 와서 하나님의 임재의 능력을 경험할 수 있도록 안전하고 성령으로 충만한 공간을 만드는 것은 매우 중요일 일것 같습니다. 이 일은 한 사람이나 한 지도자의 헌신만으로는 이루어질 수 없습니다. 교회 공동체 전체의 헌신과 노력으로 가능할 것입니다. 저는 제 자신 스스로에게, 그리고 우리 교회 공동체에게 묻습니다. ‘우리가 세상의 죄의 모습을 보며 옷을 찢는 마음으로 회개할 만큼 온유한 마음을 가지고 살고 있습니까? 하나님을 예배하는 이 거룩한 공간을 세우는 일에 우리 자신을 온전히 드릴 수 있습니까?’ 하고 말입니다.

이 거룩한 일을 위해 예배가 우리 삶의 중심이 되었으면 좋겠습니다. 우리 교회가 모두 아픔과 고통을 하나님께 가지고 나와 그분의 은혜와 용서를 받을 수 있는 장소가 되었으면 좋겠습니다. 그렇게 할때 우리는 하나님의 사랑과 생명을 다른 이들과 나눌수 있는 삶을 살 수 있습니다. 불로 정결하게 하시고 회복시키시는 하나님을 믿으며 우리를 위해 노래 불러 주시는 하나님을 기뻐하는 우리 교회가 될수 있기를 간절히 기도드립니다.
