4th Sunday after Easter

As the second generation of Korean immigrant Christians, we stand at a spiritual crossroads. Our parents built churches that were more than places of worship. They were sanctuaries of survival, identity, and resilience. They carried burdens we may never fully understand: the pain of immigration, the sting of exclusion, and the daily struggle to belong in a foreign land. But now, as that generation ages, the responsibility of the Church shifts to us. 

We cannot afford to be passive observers. We are called to take ownership, not only to preserve the faith that sustained our families, but also to reimagine it for a new generation. A church that is multicultural and multigenerational. A church where Korean heritage and spirituality continue to breathe life into the soul of the congregation. A church that remembers the hardship of its roots and extends deep compassion to all who feel unseen or alone. We are not just inheritors of tradition; we are builders of tomorrow’s church. And the time to build is now. Let us come together and build our church.

‼️ Announcement

1. Tomorrow, before the 1st and 2nd services, our youth will be handing out carnations to parents in honor of Parents' Day.

• Youth who are able to serve during the 1st service should arrive at church by 9:00 AM
• Those serving during the2nd service should arrive by 10:45 AM

2. This Friday is our last Bible study of the spring semester.

• High school: Lesson 4
• Middle school: Lessons 24. 25
  

3. The Youth Graduation Partywill be held on Friday, May 23 at 7:00 PM. Please mark your calendars!

4. The Youth Graduation Ceremonywill take place during the 2nd service on Sunday, June 1.

• Graduating students will have a rehearsal on Sunday, May 25, right after lunch in the main sanctuary.
  

5. Memorial Day Youth Outing to Great America - a detailed info will come soon.

6. Youth Retreat registration is now open. Please start register through the link provided below. If you register before 5/17, $250; after is $300. Please register early.

***Lenten Almsgiving*** final collection is due this Sunday. We’ll give our offering to San Jose YMCA for their youth program.

 

 

부활절 후 넷째 주일 

우리 한인 이민자 2세대 크리스천들은 영적인 갈림길에 서 있습니다. 우리 부모 세대는 예배당을 넘어선 “교회”를 세우셨습니다. 그 교회는 생존의 피난처였고, 정체성의 공간이었으며, 회복의 장소였습니다. 우리 부모님들은 우리가 온전히 이해할 수 없을 고된 짐들을 감당하셨습니다. 이민의 아픔, 배제의 상처, 낯선 땅에서 하루하루 살아남아야 했던 싸움 말입니다. 이제 그 세대가 나이를 들면서 교회의 책임은 우리에게로 넘어오고 있습니다. 

우리는 더 이상 수동적인 관찰자가 되어서는 안 됩니다. 우리 가정을 지탱해 온 신앙을 보존할 뿐만 아니라, 새로운 세대를 위해 그것을 새롭게 상상해 낼 책임이 우리에게 있습니다. 다문화적이며 다세대적인 교회. 한인 정체성과 영성이 여전히 공동체의 중심에서 생명을 불어넣는 교회. 고난의 뿌리를 기억하며, 지금도 외롭고 소외된 이들에게 깊은 연민을 건네는 교회. 우리는 전통만을 물려받은 자녀세대가 아닙니다. 우리는 내일의 교회를 세워 나가는 건축자들입니다. 그리고 교회를 세울 때는 바로 지금일 것입니다. 함께 모일때마다 교회를 세워 갈수 있기를 기도합니다.

1. 내일 오전 1부/2부 예배전 부모님들에게 카네이션을 드리는 봉사를 합니다. 1부예배 섬길수 있는 유스는 교회에 9시 까지 올수 있도록 부탁드리고, 2부에배 봉사할수 있는 친구들은 10시 45분까지 교회에 올수 있도록 부탁드리겠습니다.

2. 이번주 금요일은 봄학기 마지막 성경공부하는 날입니다. 공과교재 고등부 - 4과, 중등부 - 24, 25과입니다.

3. 유스부 졸업 파티가 5월 23일 금요일 오후 7시에 있습니다. 칼렌더에 저장해주세요!

4. 유스부 졸업식이 6월 1일 2부 예배때 있습니다. 졸업하는 친구들은 리허설이 5월 25일 주일 점심후 본당에서 있습니다.

5. 유스부 수련회가 6월 15 (주일오후)-18일 (수요일오전)에 열립니다. 등록을 시작하였습니다. 5월 17일 전까지 등록 하시면 $250, 이후는 $300입니다. 아래 링크를 통해 등록 해주시면 감사하겠습니다.

6. 5월 26일 메모리얼데이에 유스부 아우팅이 그레이트 어메리카에서 있습니다. 자세한 공지는 따로 올리겠습니다.
