Palm Sunday // Passion Week

‘Though she was a Samaritan, she carried the pain of being unable to fully worship and offer sacrifices to God, as passed down through her people's traditions. Perhaps every time she came to draw water, she wondered, "How can I receive forgiveness for my sins? How can I meet God?”’

Living in an era when everything seems to have become so simple, there are times when I wonder if I've been approaching God too lightly. I reflect on whether I sometimes worship without hesitation, without considering that the sacrificial love bestowed by the Lord comes at the expense of my own agony and sins. As Holy Week approaches, I wish to once again seriously weigh the burden of my weaknesses against the balance of God's love. I pray that my worship may confess that, once I realize the weight of the Lord's love always outweighs my own, I can truly step into freedom.

‼️ Announcement

1. Good Friday Service this Friday at 7:30. There’s no dinner - if you can fast, please join me fasting on Good Friday evening. But please have dinner before coming to service.

1-1. We need your participation for Good Friday service - praise team & scripture reading with Stations of the Cross. 

2. Please continue your 40-day Lenten Challenge. Donations collected at the end of the Lent will go to the San Jose YMCA Youth Program.

3. There’s Family program at 1:30PM. If your parents are member of “Joel small group” you are required to be with your family after lunch

4. Youth Retreat registration is now open. Please start register through the link provided to our group server/group chat.

5 Easter Sunday Worship is family celebration. We’ll gather at the main sancturay next Sunday.

종려주일 // 고난주간

‘그녀는 사마리아인이였지만 그들의 전통에서 계승되어 지고 있던 하나님을 향한 경배와 제사를 드릴수 없는 마음의 고통이 있었던것 같습니다. “그녀는 어떻게 하면 자신의 죄를 사함받을수 있을까?”라며 우물을 길으러 나올때 마다 하나님을 만나고 싶다라는 생각하지 않았을까요?’

모든 것이 단순해진 시대에 살면서 때때로 하나님 앞에 나아가는 것을 너무 쉽게 생각하진 않는가 고민하게 될때가 있습니다. 주님께서 베풀어 주신 희생적 사랑은 나의 고뇌와 죄로 것인데 고민없이 예배 드릴 때가 있진 않는지 뒤돌아보게 됩니다. 고난주간을 앞두고 한번 더 진지하게 나의 연약함의 무게를 하나님의 사랑의 저울에 달아보면 좋겠습니다. 항상 주님의 사랑의 무게가 더 많이 나가는 것을 깨달을때 진정한 자유함으로 나아갈수 있음을 고백하는 예배 되기를 기도합니다.

1. 성금요예배가 오는 금요일 저녁 7:30분에 있습니다. (저녁 식사는 없습니다. 우리 친구들은 집에서 일찍 저녁을 먹고 오면 좋겠구요, 가능한 친구들은 금식에 동참해도 좋겠습니다.)

2. 40일 사순절 찰런지 끝까지 잘 할수 있도록 도와주세요.

3. 오늘 요엘 공동체 모임이 1:30분에 있습니다. 가족과 함께 하는 모임이니 참여하시는 부모님들은 유스들과 함께 참석해 주시면 감사하겠습니다. 

4. 유스부 수련회가 6월 15 (주일오후)-18일 (수요일오전)에 열립니다. 등록을 시작하니 다음주에 배포되는 링크로 등록 해 주시면 감사하겠습니다.
