지금 돌이켜보면 사춘기 시절, 흔들리는 신앙 정체성의 위기, 방황의 시간을 버텨준 것은 교회 친구들이었습니다. 비슷한 혼돈의 시기를 겪고 있었기 때문에 어떤 판단이나 정죄, 차별 없이 서로를 이해하고 받아들일 수 있었습니다. 우리는 기도와 사랑으로 끊임없이 함께하며 서로를 붙잡고 함께 청년이 될 수 있었습니다. 우리 대부분은 신실한 부모님의 헌신과 사랑, 기도의 축복을 받았지만 일부는 그렇지 못했습니다. 하지만 믿음의 부모님을 통해 물려받은 공동체가 있었기에 우리는 안전한 공간에서 보호받으며 신앙생활을 할 수 있었습니다. 그리고 믿음의 친구들을 사귈 수 있었습니다. 이번 수련회가 그 공간이 되길 바라며, 우리 청소년들이 서로에게 믿음의 친구가 되어 예수님을 중심으로 세상의 풍파를 이겨낼 수 있기를 기도합니다. 

Looking back now, it was my church friends who held me through my adolescence, shaky faith identity crisis, and times of wandering. We were going through similar turbulent times, so we were able to understand and accept each other without any judgment, condemnation, or discrimination. We shared a constant presence in prayer and in love that allowed us to hold on to each other and grow into adulthood together. Most of us were blessed to have the devotion, love, and prayer of our faithful parents, but some of us didn't. But because of the community we inherited through our faith parents, we were able to live out our faith under the protection of a safe space. And we were able to make friends of faith. I hope that this retreat will be that space, and I pray that our youth will be friends of faith to each other so that they can weather the storms of the world with Jesus at the center.
