ACS Mobile App

This mobile app for the Annual Conference Session is now available. The app includes a daily schedule of events, meal event times and locations, keynote/guest speaker information, access to social media, and the option of viewing plenary session from anywhere in the world. To download the app onto an Apple device, search for "CNUMC ACS17" in the App Store. The Android version will be available soon. (Read more)
Pre-ACS Briefings Tomorrow
Briefings for lay and clergy members of the California-Nevada Annual Conference to understand the process of the Annual Conference Session, issues that will be addressed at the Annual Conference Session including the budget, constitutional amendments, and legislation affecting local churches will be held tomorrow, Saturday, June 10 at Porterville First, Fremont St. Paul’s, Sparks, and in West Sacramento at the Conference Center. All briefings will begin with gathering and registration at 8:30 a.m. and opening worship at 9 a.m. The briefings will conclude by 3:30 p.m. Lunch will be served. Registration is $20 and includes lunch.

ACS Schedule
The 169th Session of the California-Nevada Conference will begin with a Celebration of Communion on Wednesday, June 21, at 9 a.m. and adjourn on Saturday, June 24, at 4 p.m. For the full schedule, click here.
Registration
Registration for the 2017 Annual Conference Session has been extended until Thursday, June 15, 2017. To register, click here.
Youth and Child Program
The registration deadline for the Youth and Child Program is Thursday, June 15. To register, click here.
On-Site Badge/Nametag Pick-Up
Badge/Nametag pick-up for persons that have registered will begin on Tuesday, June 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. and then again on Wednesday morning, June 21, from 8 a.m. to noon in Harbour A. Persons arriving after noon on Wednesday will pick up their badge/nametag in the Conference Office.

A clergy quadrennial clergy pictorial directory will be produced this year. All clergy in the California-Nevada Conference are asked to take a photo. Clergy are also asked to sign up for time slots for photos in advance of the Annual Conference Session. To schedule a photo, click here.

There will be no District Dinners this year during the Annual Conference Session.

Pick Up Choir at ACS
Lay and clergy members to the Annual Conference Session (ACS), as well as spouses and guests, are welcome to join this year's "pick up" choir during ACS. The choir will rehearse on Wednesday evening at 8:15 p.m., and Thursday afternoon at 12:45 p.m., and will perform Andrew Lloyd Webber's Pie Jesu from Requiem at Thursday's Memorial Service, and an anthem version of Testify to Love (the theme song for ACS this year) at Friday's Ordination Service. Annual Conference Book Exchange
The Annual Conference Book Exchange will take place this year at the Annual Conference Session in Burlingame. Bring your boxes of books to share. This year many of them will later be shipped to Tonga, where they will be used in the middle school, high school, and seminary. Books in English are perfect for this purpose. No Collection of Any Items
There will be no collection of any items at this year's Annual Conference Session. This includes health kits, eyeglasses, cell phones, and other items that have been collected in previous years.
Annual Conference Session Offering to Benefit Africa University

The 2017 Annual Conference Session offering will benefit Africa University as the school celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The celebratory offering for Africa University will take place during opening worship on Wednesday, June 21. Clergy and laity from churches across the California-Nevada Conference are encouraged to bring, and present their offering during this time. Africa University Vice-Chancellor to Preach for Opening Worship at ACS

Dr. James H. Salley, Associate Vice-Chancellor for Institutional Advancement for Africa University, will preach for the opening worship of the 2017 Annual Conference Session (ACS) on Wednesday morning, June 21. The ACS offering will benefit Africa University as the school celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The celebratory offering will take place during opening worship. The Rev. Dr. Greg Bergquist, associate general secretary for the Division of Ordained Ministry at the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM), will be the preacher for the Memorial Service on Thursday, June 22, at 2 p.m. In his GBHEM role, Bergquist oversees all functions of the division, including the strategic planning for the recruitment and training of United Methodist clergy. Most recently, Bergquist served as conference superintendent for leadership development for the California-Nevada Annual Conference. (Read more)
Religion and Race Executive to Keynote Annual Conference Session

Erin M. Hawkins, General Secretary for the General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR), will be the keynote speaker for the 2017 Annual Conference Session to be held June 21 to 24 at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame. This year's annual conference theme is "Testify to Love: Your Story Matters." Hawkins says, "Jesus used stories to bring people together, to create a deeper understanding around the bond of our common humanity. Indeed, we are all connected and our unifying story is powerful…The things that make each of us unique are equally powerful. Let us use this time to bring our unique gifts and graces around the table to heal division and discord…Let us see ourselves in each other, as we work for peace, justice, healing and wholeness in our communities and in our church."
