 제19회 학당을 마치고

 

AI 시대에서, 나는 어떻게 사용될 수 있을까? 

나는 70세가 넘었지만, 심심치 않게 ChatGPT를 가지고 놀면서 AI와 친숙하게 지내고 있다. 

그렇기에 AI 시대를 살아가면서, 내가 어떻게 AI를 활용할 수 있을지 고민하는 것은 꼭 필요한 과제가 아닐까 싶다.

이번 학당의 주제인 “인공지능과 한인여선교회: 디지털 시대의 기독교적 지혜와 인공지능 활용”은 내게 무척 흥미로웠다. 

한인여선교회라는 거대한 그룹이 AI를 어떻게 활용하고, 어떤 개척의 길을 열어갈 수 있을지 궁금했다. 게다가 27년의 경력을 가진 강사님의 강의라는 점도 기대를 높였다.

얼마 전까지만 해도 ChatGPT는 과거의 정보만 다룰 수 있었는데, 이제는 실시간으로 세상의 모든 변화를 반영하며 많이 달라지고 있다. 

그렇다면 지금 AI는 어디까지 발전했고, 우리의 실생활과 신앙생활에 얼마나 깊이 들어와 있을까? 

앞으로 교회는 AI 시대를 어떻게 준비할까? 우리는 이를 어떻게 받아들이게 될까? 그런 질문을 품고 강의를 들었다.

 

강의는 기계학습(Machine Learning) 개념을 강사님의 사진을 활용해 설명하는 것으로 시작했다. 

이어서 문제 해결의 순서 개념인 알고리즘(Algorithm) 개발 과정과, AI가 인간처럼 사고하고 문제를 해결하는 단계까지 발전한 AGI(Artificial General Intelligence) 개념을 다뤘다. 

특히 AI의 알고리즘이 가진 편향(Bias) 문제와 그 부작용을 분별하는 지혜가 필요하다는 점도 강조되었다.

또한 AI와의 소통 방식인 프롬프트(Prompt) 사용법도 배울 수 있었다. 프롬프트는 단순한 질문이 아니라, AI와 인간 사이의 명확한 지시 전달(Instructions)을 기반으로 한 소통의 도구라는 점을 알게 되었다.

강사님은 다양한 AI 도구들을 소개해 주셨고, 그룹 나눔 시간에도 다른 AI 정보를 공유하며 유익한 시간을 보냈다.

예를 들면:

• ChatGPT: 백과사전 같은 기계적인 문장 생성

• Claude: 자연스럽고 인간적인 문장 표현

• Gemini 2.0: Google AI로, 비즈니스 및 IT 분야에 강점이 있지만 한글 지원이 부족

• Perplexity: 실시간 인터넷 검색이 가능한 AI 기반 검색 엔진 (유료)

• Genspark: 뉴스 브리핑 및 보고서 작성에 적합

• Lilys AI: YouTube 영상을 요약해 주는 AI

• Wrtn.AI: 한국에서 개발된 간편한 AI (무료 GPT)

• Ideogram AI: 간단한 텍스트 프롬프트를 활용한 로고 제작

• 초원 AI: 크리스천을 위한 플랫폼, 신앙 관련 문제 해결 및 교제의 장

강의를 마치고 나니, 왜 하나님께서 이 시간을 내게 허락하셨을까를 깊이 묵상하게 되었다. AI라는 도구가 단순한 기술이 아니라, 신앙과 삶을 연결하는 새로운 길이 될 수도 있겠다는 생각이 들었다.

오늘도 값진 배움을 주신 하나님께 감사드리며, 한인여선교회 전국연합회가 늘 먼저 준비하고 안내해 주시는 것에도 깊이 감사드린다.

How Can I Be of Good Use in This Era of Artificial Intelligence?

Though I am over 70 years old, I often find myself engaging with ChatGPT, growing more familiar with AI year after year. In this era of artificial intelligence, I believe it is essential to

consider how I can effectively utilize AI rather than simply observe its rise.

The theme of this NNKUMW Virtual School, “Artificial Intelligence and Korean United Methodist Women: Christian Wisdom and AI Utilization in the Digital Age,” was particularly intriguing to me. I was eager to learn how such a vast organization as the Korean United Methodist Women could incorporate AI into its mission and what pioneering paths it might forge. My expectations were further heightened by the fact that the speaker had 27 years of experience in the field.

Not long ago, ChatGPT was limited to past information. However, AI has now evolved to reflect real-time changes, making it far more dynamic. This raised several pressing questions in my mind: 'How advanced has AI become?' 'How deeply has it integrated into our daily lives and faith communities?' 'How should the church prepare for the AI era?' 'How will we, as Christians, respond to this new reality?'

With these thoughts, I attended the lecture, which began with an explanation of machine learning (ML) using photos of the speaker as an example. We then explored the concept of algorithms—the structured process AI follows to solve problems—and delved into artificial general intelligence (AGI), where AI begins to think and problem-solve like humans. The lecture also highlighted the issue of bias in AI algorithms and the wisdom required to discern their unintended consequences.

Another key takeaway was learning how to communicate with AI using prompts. I realized that prompts are more than simple questions; they serve as structured instructions, enabling clearer interaction between humans and AI.

The speaker introduced various AI tools, and during group discussions, we exchanged valuable insights on different AI applications, including:

1. ChatGPT: Generates encyclopedia-like responses with a mechanical tone.

2.Claude: Produces natural, human-like text.

3. Gemini 2.0: Google’s AI, strong in business and IT but with limited Korean language support.

4. Perplexity: An AI-powered search engine capable of real-time internet searches (paid).

5. Genspark: Ideal for news briefings and report generation.

6. Lilys AI: Summarizes YouTube videos.

7. Wrtn.AI: A Korean-developed, user-friendly AI (free GPT).

8. Ideogram AI: Creates logos using simple text prompts.

9. Cho-won AI: A Christian platform designed for faith-based discussions and problem-solving.

After the lecture, I found myself reflecting on why God had allowed me to be part of this moment. AI is not merely a technological tool; it has the potential to connect faith and daily life in meaningful ways. I am grateful for today’s invaluable learning experience and for the leadership of the NNKUMW, which continually prepares and guides us forward.
