-2nd Sunday of Advent-

Advent: Restoring True Peace - Matthew 3:1-12

As we enter the second week of Advent, John the Baptist tells us not to fear God’s coming, but to prepare our hearts for true peace. True peace the Bible talks about is not the absence of conflict nor the comfort of safety. The peace the Bible talks about is the deep understanding that we can stand in God’s holy presence without anything to hide. True peace only can come to us when we align ourselves with God’s story written through His only Son, Jesus.

Join us this Sunday as we turn towards the God who sends His Son to be close to us, who invites us to lay down our pretences without any shame, who helps us to bear the fruit of repentance, and who guides us to find our way to our true peace. Come, let us prepare the way, step into His gracious light, and discover true peace that renews our soul.

-대림절 둘째주일-

참된 평화 맞이하기 - 마태복음 3:1-12

대림절 둘째 주일을 맞이하였습니다. 성경은 대림절 기간 동안 우리의 구세주를 기다리는 마음에 대해 말해 주고 있습니다. 세례자 요한이 광야에서 외쳤던 그 음성은 우리의 구세주를 어떻게 맞이해야 하는지 이야기해 주고 있습니다. 그는 우리가 하나님의 오심을 두려움이 아니라 회개함으로 맞이하라고 합니다. 왜냐하면 참 평화는 우리 마음이 하나님의 마음과 일치할 때 이룰 수 있기 때문입니다. 참 평화로 오실 구세주를 진정으로 만나기 위해서는 그런 회개가 필요합니다. 하나님 앞에 숨기는 것 없이 은혜로 회개하는 삶은 평화를 이루는 삶입니다.

하나님께서 가까이 다가오시기 위해 독생자 아들을 주셨습니다. 이 귀한 절기에 함께 예배하며 우리의 마음을 하나님께로 돌이켜 회개의 열매를 맺으며 참된 평화를 이루는 우리 유스들 될 수 있기를 기도합니다. 우리 교회가 하나의 마음으로 주님의 길을 예비하고, 그분의 빛으로 앞을 향해 걸어가며, 평화로 회복을 이룰 수 있기를 간절히 기도합니다.
