Holy Week Service of Lament and Healing Addressing Hatred and Violence Against Asian-Americans Wednesday, March 31st, 7pm PDT
On Monday March 22nd Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño and Conference Lay Leader Micheal Pope convened a group of conference clergy f to discuss the surge in violence against Asian Americans happening in their communities. They listened as people shared stories of fear and discouragement as well as ideas around addressing the violence and isolation it causes among our Asian siblings.
It was the first of several such planned gatherings that asked the question 'What is help in this time?"
The gathering agreed that coming together for a time of prayer and reflection during Holy Week would be a healing first step.
The service will be held on Wednesday March 31st at 7pm pacific time and will be a lament for the Anti-Asian violence. We will also share prayers for healing within Asian-American churches and communities, healing across racial lines and a call to action to follow Jesus who loves us all.
